1800s Map of the Isle of Matrimony

What fun this beguiling little map is! A 24" x 30" 'puzzle' salvaged from a now-forgotten 1800s magazine or newspaper, which irreverently depicts the search for 'conjugal happiness'. What a joy it is to inspect this witty little map and laugh out loud at its tongue-in-cheek cheekiness! Can you imagine a more perfect wedding or anniversary gift?

The map is printed on Arches BFK Rives 100% Cotton Rag paper, handmade at the Blanchet Frères & Kléber paper mill in Rives, France on a traditional cylinder paper mould. The subtle pattern of the paper fibers is faintly visible, and lends a nice cloth-like appearance to the whole map. Tears and stains from the original map are reproduced in this print, which adds immeasurably to its character and visual appeal.
