1887 Map of the Territory of Arizona

A handsome 36" x 43" early map of Arizona published by the United States General Land Office in 1887. The map depicts mountains and topography shown with an attractive and distinctive hachure that gives the map exceptional visual depth. Towns and counties, railroads, trails and routes, water bodies, streams and rivers, Indian and military reservations, and many other features are shown and labeled. 

The map is printed on Arches BFK Rives 100% Cotton Rag paper, handmade at the Blanchet Frères & Kléber paper mill in Rives, France on a traditional cylinder paper mould. The subtle pattern of the paper fibers is visible in oblique lighting, and lends a rich and elegant appearance to the whole map.
