A handsome 36" x 44" early map of Texas published by John Arrowsmith of London in 1841. The map depicts towns and counties, trails and routes, water bodies, streams and rivers, and mountain ranges shown by hachure. The map includes many historical notes drawn in pen script on the map by William Bollaert, owner of the original map, who traveled extensively in Texas between 1842 and 1844. The original map was made of 18 sections pasted on cloth backing, and is reproduced faithfully in our reproduction.

The map is printed on Arches BFK Rives 100% Cotton Rag paper, handmade at the Blanchet Frères & Kléber paper mill in Rives, France on a traditional cylinder paper mould. The subtle pattern of the paper fibers is visible in oblique lighting, and lends a rich and elegant appearance to the whole map.

* NOTE: This is a carefully crafted print of the highest quality, but it is not the original work.
